Embracing Forgiveness in Times of Struggle

In our walk with Christ, we often encounter moments when forgiving others seems beyond our reach. It’s in these moments, where hurt and resentment cling tightly, that our faith is both tested and strengthened.

Forgiveness is a Command, Not an Option: In Colossians 3:13, Paul urges us to “bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” This verse reminds us that forgiveness is not just a suggestion, but a directive from the Lord. The Example of Jesus: Christ’s forgiveness of those who crucified Him — “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34) — sets a profound example for us. If Jesus can forgive such a great wrong, we too can find strength to forgive.

It’s natural to feel hurt and betrayed. Acknowledging this pain is the first step towards healing. Forgiving doesn’t mean forgetting or excusing the wrong. It means choosing to release the burden of bitterness and entrusting justice to God. Seek God’s presence. Prayer can soften hearts and provide the grace needed to forgive.

The Power of Forgiveness is so real, healing for the Soul: Forgiveness can lead to immense healing, not just for the one who is forgiven, but more so for the one who forgives. Forgiveness can rebuild and strengthen relationships, reflecting the reconciliation we have in Christ. Forgiving frees us from the chains of bitterness, allowing us to live in the freedom that Christ offers.

Challenging to say the least , when hurt was delivered so unexpectedly, it take strength and tons of faith to let go and let God …🙏

“Prayer can soften hearts and provide the grace needed to forgive”
This is so powerful! Our hearts are softened and we are also given the gift of grace for others!

I love this! I am struggling with forgiveness towards many. I think I do, then it resurfaces.
