Embracing God’s Surprises

In our journey of faith, there are often “suddenly” moments – unexpected turns where God’s presence and plans become vividly clear, transforming our ordinary experiences into divine encounters. These moments, though fleeting, hold profound spiritual significance, reminding us of God’s omnipresence and His mysterious ways of working in our lives.

“Suddenly” moments are characterized by their unpredictability. They occur without warning, yet they leave a lasting impact on our spiritual walk. These moments are transformative, offering us a deeper understanding of God’s nature and His desires for us. Think of Saul on the road to Damascus, when he encountered Christ and his life was transformed in an instant (Acts 9:3-6). Or consider the disciples on the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit came upon them suddenly, empowering them for ministry (Acts 2:2).

To embrace these moments, we need to remain open and receptive to God’s workings. This requires a heart tuned to God’s voice and a spirit willing to yield to His guidance, even when it comes unexpectedly. These moments remind us to trust in God’s perfect timing. Our plans may not always align with His, but His timing is always perfect, bringing about change or guidance at just the right moment.

We can learn from the “suddenly” moments, it’s like an opportunity for spiritual growth. These are times when our faith is stretched and strengthened, as we learn to rely more fully on God.

There are moments in God when you feel the tension. The stretching, The pulling back, The pressure. Etc… It feels uncomfortable… almost like delay. But what if it’s not delay?...
