Mountain Top moments

Give me the mountain top moments. The moments where Moses encountered the Lord. (Exodus 19) The moment when the Lord took only three to the Mount of transfiguration (Matthew 17:2)  so that the three would see him in his glory.  The moment when Nehemiah went to the top of the hill to strategize with God. (Nehemiah 8)  It’s on the top of the mountain, the hill where God speaks, where an encounter with him feels like an eternity. Healing takes place on the mountain.

In the Gospels, we see Jesus often going up the mountain by himself to pray, removing himself from the crowds, from his everyday ministry, and even from his disciples. It was his spiritual discipline, repeatedly finding time alone to connect with God the Father. And in that intimate time alone with God, I believe Jesus was able to reorient himself for what was to come next, for the next step of his journey.

What about you? I’m so excited, because I know here in a few weeks I will have my own mountain top moment. Here in Oklahoma I am hosting a women’s retreat May 9-11, surrounded by Hills and nature. I’m believing the Lord will speak to many. For some of us we have to create our own mountain top experience with God. Where will you go? Play some RUACH sounds on YouTube and sit alone with God. Your creator. He’s waiting. It’s time for your mountain top encounter.
