Today marks the first official day of summer, and something about it feels like a gentle invitation—from God Himself—to slow down, look up, and savor the beauty around us.
Summer has a way of stirring our hearts in a different rhythm. The days stretch longer, the sun shines brighter, and there’s a sacred sweetness in the simplicity of it all—family barbecues, laughter around the table, road trips, lazy evenings on the porch, and kids chasing fireflies like little messengers of joy.
As I reflect on this new season, I’m reminded of Ecclesiastes 3:1:
“To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.”
Summer is a season of togetherness. It’s the time when we can reconnect—not just with nature, but with one another. We get to be more present with our families, make new memories, and create space for meaningful conversations that don’t have to be rushed.
In our household, summer means intentional pauses. Whether it’s a spontaneous picnic in the backyard, beach days with sand between our toes, or simply laughing around the dinner table with no agenda—these moments are a gift.
But even more than that, summer reminds me that God’s creation is alive and vibrant, and so are we. Just like the flowers in bloom and the sun in its strength, we’re called to grow, shine, and rest in His presence.
So, here’s my heart today:
Let this be a summer of gratitude, where we don’t take the little things for granted. Let it be a summer where we keep God at the center of our plans, our play, and our peace.
Here’s to sunshine, family hugs, watermelon slices, answered prayers, and making space for joy.
Happy First Day of Summer from my heart to yours. ☀️
Let’s make it beautiful—on purpose.
With love,
Simply J
