Stress can take an effect on anyone. You can have the best season of your life and that will suddenly change. We have all had rainy seasons and sunny seasons. Seasons of storms and seasons of calms. It won’t always be perfect. How you deal with stress is vital to your overall health. Stress can really wear you out.
If you're feeling stressed, one of the best things you can do is pray. When you pour out your heart to God, you'll find comfort and peace. You may also want to read the Bible for guidance and encouragement. The Bible is full of verses that can help you cope with stress in a healthy way. Remember what God says: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).
What I started to do was write myself a daily reminder. Each morning my phone reminds me of my own words. “Joy trumps all feelings or worry, anxiety and fear.” So everyday I know to claim joy! Get your mind out of the old patterns and old way of thinking. Create new patterns in your mind; it's all a part of Neuroplasticity. Neuroplasticity is the brain's ability to change and adapt due to experience. In other words it’s the brain's ability to change.
Learn something new, do something new. When you do this you are breaking the everyday automatic response system of your brain. Learn a new language. Today speak more positively than you do negative. Surround yourself with people who love you. People who you feel safe around. When you don’t feel ok, it’s ok to reach out to someone. Take care of you.
