We all go through moments in our lives, in where we are trying to gain a sense of self. Questions arise, who am I? What is my next move? Did I make the right choice? Wha from here?
Questions like this can cause anxiety. We put a pressure on ourselves and an expectation that really doesn’t make any sense. If God is the author and finisher, He knows the beginning from the end, He clearly tells us not to be anxious for anything. Why in our humanistic nature do we worry?
Philippians 4:6-7
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
My favorite verse is the one that comes after, the “be anxious for nothing” (The peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus)
Instead of chasing our next steps, imagine if we chased Jesus? Because when we do He will provide our next steps, the only reason why we are really anxious, is because we don’t know what tomorrow will bring. We are busy trying to figure it out, we become obsessed with the thought, what now? OMG! Did I make the right decision? Where do I go from here? There’s so much that happens in our mind, your mind will betray you.
It’s time to be cautious. It’s time to discern the spirit of God. It’s time to TRUST God. Trust Him with your now, and future. Believe that He will reveal your next. Satan has come to close to the voice of God. The Bible says “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me" John 10:27.
Take a deep breath… God has you.
